“Moonlight Shadows”

“Silver night!  Silver night!
Sheathed in pale moonlight.”

All night long!  All night long!
Moonlight soft and wise and deep
Gently cradles me to sleep!
Shadows east and shadows west,
Changing shadows on a quest.

Tree shadows moving, moving slow,
Roof shadows hiding dark below!

All night long!  All night long!
Moonlight soft and wise and deep
Out beneath the friendly sky
Where my loved one came to lie.

Little shadows changing slow
On the Christmas wreaths below!
