October 25, 1924

Sat.,  25  Another lovely day. Make pies & cake. Henrietta take Grace & me to ride. We call at Lewis Peck’s and go to Charlie Merrill’s–our objective. While there Mrs. Jim Donoway,  (Madam.) Rose & Kate Donoway & Madam James Clark call. Iron out a few things on my return home. Send a letter to sister Helen. Letter from our Helen Fisher Smith.

What is the “Madam” business, I wonder?
