Tues., 28  Another good day. Make a pear pie, which Tuttle does not like. Put up 4 pts. boiled cider apple sauce, 7 pints pears, & prepare & cook up a double recipe of fig marmalade. Write Ruth & Anna. Letter from Anna & one from True Story Magazine containing a check for $8.00 for a 500 word story. Dumas clears out 4 rooms upstairs & 5 below.


The link is to a True Story magazine–I  think published in 1921. If you scan through, you’ll notice they offer money for a “true story” of 500 words.  I’d love to find the one EWF wrote–I’ll keep looking.
