December 24, 1924

Wed., 24  Spend the day cooking. Stuff & steam the turkey. Make apple, mince, cherry, rasin (sic), custard and lemon pies. Helen comes at night & Lou comes up for a call. She has headquarters at Dalrymples. Tired & go late to bed. Do up Xmas packages & place them all on a table in the sitting room as we have no tree.

I do not know who this Lou is. There is a granddaughter named Lou who was born in 1902, but in the earlier diaries another one is mentioned.  Because this Lou was staying with Dalrymples, I suspect she is the latter instead of the grandchild.
