January 22, 1926

Fri., 22  Letter from Gertrude that little Margaret is very poorly after an attack of flu. Mend stockings &tc. Color 10 yds of unbleached cotton red, for comforter linings. Commence of our 20 lbs. package of butter (sic), send “Sally” away.

It seems that the “experiment” was the piece about “Sally Perkins” mentioned on the 4th.
