February 5, 1926

Fri., 5  Sunshine, clear sky & blue mountains! Quite cool. Dumas comes to wash. Alden & men come up with the snow plow. Calhouns man from Middlebury comes to look at the furnace. “Senator” Blair, a poor traveler who staid (sic) in the jail last night, comes to the door hungry. We give him his breakfast. Make mock cherry pie with the last of the Christmas cranberries. Tie off the comforter I put on yesterday. Letter from Jeanette.
