February 24, 1926

Wed., 24  9 below. Snug cold & sunshine all day. Grace goes onto a milk diet, gets 5 qts of Herb Day. I do housework & sew a little on a khaki blouse for Grace. Letter from Mrs. Varney. Surely she’s a poor thing! Letter from Helen. Receive my first copy of “Contemporary Verse”— also Good Housekeeping for March. Card from Abe.

The “milk diet” link is to a book written about that time by a popular body builder. Herb Day is, I think, a farmer!  “Contemporary Verse” was a magazine, and the link here is to an anthology of poetry from it.
