March 28, 1926

Sun., 28  Cool north wind. Henrietta in bed, Karl & Warner come to dinner & bring Grace from church. Write the children. Sending them the news of Walter’s death. Write for particulars to Cook Academy, also write Gertrude. Look over the papers, hear two sermons. Get the dinner, etc. etc.

Hard to imagine now that news of a grandchild’s death would all be sent by letter.
