Fri., 17 Another damp day, cool & cloudy & full of moisture. Carpenters come to put a partition in the cellar. Sew a little. Letter from Hattie. Grace & I attend the opening meeting of the D.A.R. held with Loraine Bristol. Ten members present. She lives in the old Jack Kelly place which has been repaired & is very pretty, but O she freezes me out & I am glad to get home & get warm. Refreshments of muskmelon filled with ice cream, lovely cake & coffee. Program on John Fisher & “The Wayside Inn.” Both furnished by Grace. Colby house being repaired.
