October 12, 1926

A beautiful day. Karl, Henrietta & Warner come & leave their car. We go with Tuttle to Springfield. Start at 7-30, arrive at 4 o’clock. Leave Grace who will have company nights. Find Anna & family out driving. The day is perfect. The sun shines on the roadway and the colors blend georgously (sic) with the dark evergreens all along the hillsides. Have a quiet evening.

I think this is Springfield, Mass. And this is exactly what the colors are like in Vermont today.
