January 5, 1929

Sat., 5    Stay in bed. I am grateful for a warm room & a soft bed because I seem to need it often now. Henrietta comes & takes Helen to the noon train. Comes back to visit with me. I ought not to say “Poor Helen” because God has been kind to spare her broken bones & even her life, which was in great danger. Write “Oblivion.”

I have no idea what happened to Helen. Given what I’ve learned about her terrible driving, maybe she had a car accident!
