Tues., 19   Snowing all day from the North. Dumas comes & clears out the sleeping rooms, does dishes, etc.,  Letter from Anna, written on the steamer, as she & Alvin are sailing for home from Beaufort, S.C.  Card from Ruth. Find & do up for mailing her guide to Jerusalem.  Cut out a green garden dress for Grace. Have the last of our venison. Write a fourteener. Mend a pair of socks. “As You Like It” meets to-night Mrs. Brownell’s. It is a stormy night.
