Thurs., 14 Raining all day. Tuttle takes Alvin to the Station for the early train to Montpelier. Dumas does the work, finishes the ironing, cleans the dining room closet, etc. I busy myself getting dinner, starting rolls, bags, etc. Grace goes down with Tuttle after dinner & again in the evening. Get the morning devotions & Baptist minister officiates and they sing the old song “Jesus, Savior, Pilot me.” I can see the old faces in the Prayer room thru a mist of tears.
