May 16, 1929

Thurs., 16  Morning devotions. Did not sleep well last night. Dumas is doing up the work. The Blair & Sorrell, who ordered the funeral wreath never came for it, but went to Middlebury & bought flowers of Hunt. I clear out bookcase & Dumas works in the upper hall. Make a sofa pillow & cover the porch rocker with some painted chintz that Grace brought me. No letters to-day, but a terrible accident in a Cleveland hospital killing a hundred people with poison gas.  A terrific rain storm & wind blowing a gale.
