July 23, 1929

Tues., 23  Morning devotions. Dumas washes & irons. I work in the cellar-way & Dumas washes down the stairs. After dinner Ruth takes me to Middlebury. We drive onto the grounds of the lovely Chapman place, see the daughter, & go on to make a call on Dr. & Mrs. Collins. Find him not very well. They have an ideal house. When we get home we find Mrs. Coolidge waiting for us with Miss Farmer, who brought her. They stay but a short time.

This is not the President’s wife!
