September 4, 1929

Wed., 4  Ruth leaves us in her car. Bound for New York at 6 o’clock. Helen getting ready to go. I get up at 4-30 and manage to stay up. Get most of the dinner &  make an apple. pie. Lucy Dana, Mrs. Blair (George Jackman’s widow) & her daughter Grace Jackman, call. Henrietta comes out. I am sorry, sorry, sorry. I feel that poor Ruth is not happy.
