Sat., 12  Morning devotions, which do not come in very good. Dumas finishes the ironing & helps out searches out a dead mouse in my closet (sic). Letter from Gertrude. Make a pear pie & an apple pie. Buy a bushel of onions. Begins to rain in the P.M. The Blakelys work at the apple picking until the rain drives them off. Mend a little.
