January 21, 1932 & a letter to Ben

Thurs., Jan. 21  Morning devotions.  The minister had an earnest voice & meant what he said. Do the morning work & get dinner. Letter from Hattie, in which she says Ashton will keep his share in the cottage until he can have a talk with me. Write Ruth about it. Things come from Sears & Roebuck, sent for them Tuesday. Cloudy & dark. Some snow falls. Not feeling very well. Beautiful moonlit night.  I did not sleep well.

This letter, courtesy of the Vergennes Historical Society, was written on board a ship in July, 1914.
