January 22, 1932 & a letter to Ben

Fri., 22  Morning devotions. Dark day. Finish mending my old gown. Grace goes down this evening. I write Mr. John H. Stewart on the Seth Warner deal. Mend a little. Do the morning work & get dinner. Write Mrs. Hafer. Finish “Salt of Vermont” by Walter Hard which I like very much.

This letter to Ben mentions the poem she was to read at the celebration of McDonough’s victory on Lake Champlain.
