January 30, 1932 & hand-written “Just a Dog” poem

Sat., Jan. 30  Mansfield visible. Morning devotions. Make a custard & a mince pie. Do the morning work & get dinner. Grace makes 2 funeral pieces for John Thomas’ funeral. A lovely silk for a gown from Helen Fisher. Box of fruit = Helen Simonds. Box of fruit from Lou & Jack. A lovely dish & bottle of pickels from Gertrude. Letters from Lou & Wm Branch. Make an apron. Clean & cook a chicken. Pictures of the bird come. One of them is very fine. George Buck calls. Grace goes to a rehearsal to-night.
