Tues., 3 Morning devotions. Dumas works in the chambers, does dishes, etc. Grace goes down town with Tuttle. Mr. Hagar, Mr. Smith, State ornithologist, Mr. Crighton come to see the mockingbird. He shows up fine, coming on the porch to feed, and staying a long time around the yard. They come in & we have a little visit. I get dinner & sew on Grace’s dress afternoon. Mrs. Charles Chapman dies this morning, at 11 o’clock. Letters from Helen, Ben and Mr. Melton of Georgia. Mr. Crighton goes home.
