Wed., 4  Morning devotions.  Dumas. She cleans my closet, the bath room, etc.  I put things back, sew a little. The mocking-bird with us. He drives away all the summer birds, who want to nest around us. Three small English sparrows come to feed. I do not know if they are building, but think not. Mr. Chas. Chapman very sick. D.A.R. meet to-day at Mrs. Derrick’s. Grace & I do not attend.
