May 30, 1932

Mon., 30  Morning devotions.  Memorial Day. Grace very busy all day. William Wills calls, also Ed. Haye’s son, Will, grown to be a wrinkled, grey-headed man. He also was a neighbor. Henrietta takes me to the cemetery. We put flowers on the graves. Others are in the cemetery with flowers for their graves. Then we go to N.H. & put a bouquet of flowers on Ben & Debbie’s graves. There is no water there & we had none. George & Frances stop for the night. Write Gertrude.

And here is a photo of Grace in her herb garden, courtesy of the Vergennes Historical Society.
