Fri., 17  Morning devotions.  A nice day. Housework and dinner. Finish the ironing & keep busy. Write Walter Davenport in answer to his invitation to attend N.A.P.A. at Montpelier. Attend the dedication of an elm tree on McDonough Park. To Gussie Norton for her services as State Regent of the D.A.R.  Shirley Farr does the presenting & I read the poem written for the occasion. Mrs. Dan Donnelly comes for Grace & me. She also takes Mrs. Herrick & Mrs. Thorne. We go to Gussie Norton’s for light refreshments.
