Sat., 2 Morning devotions. Not feeling especially well to-day. The clouds clear away and the garden dries off. I go out & collect greens from beets, spinach & chard. Look over & wash it. Alvin & Anna in. The children are at Karl’s. Dumas cleaning up. I make a mince pie & get dinner, a strawberry shortcake which I do not eat. We go out to Karl’s after supper, This is Henrietta’s birthday. We carry her a bushel of flowers. I have already given her the “American Home” for 3 years. Anna distributes her gifts.
