August 12, 1932

Fri., 12  Morning devotions. Charlie still working on the box. Grace busy all day making funeral pieces. She goes to Charlotte for lillies & her helpers go to the woods for ferns. Tuttle & I go to Henrietta’s. Get a chicken ready to cook & a doz. eggs. We go to Shattucks for berries. It grows quite cool. Heavy clouds & just rain enough to dampen the bundled grain, standing everywhere in the fields. Letter from Anna & lavender from Mrs. Strohmeyer.
