ELLA:    Fri., Dec. 30 Mild.  Go down street & get the groceries.  Commence Benjamin a pair of trousers.  Am sick all night sewing on them.  Call on Ashton & Hattie.

ELLA:    Tues., Dec. 13 The water fails in the house.  Grace does the wash.  Make cake, mop, &tc.  Mother comes with Gravaline.  Henry goes to Snake Mt.  Growing very cold.
